We had such a great night at our Cake and Couture event last week so thank you to everyone who came, we hope you enjoyed it! In celebration of our practically sold out event, we wanted to create a photo diary to give those who couldn't make it a sneak peek of Sheffield Hallam's first fashion night out!

The Event - Part One
Part one brought a fabulously fashionable first half! Alex Gould and Cat Lane started things off with 3 Spring Summer trends that you can achieve - even when that student loan is drying up! They talked us through how to rock double denim, how to take an all-pastel nude outfit from day to night and how to wear one grunge floral item 3 ways. With not one item from their whole presentation costing more than £30, Alex and Cat did a great job of kicking off a great student fashion night!
Next brought the amazingly fashionable, Connie Anker who talked us through making the most of your items. She showed us how to style different clothing from Summer to Winter. Here at SHU Style we love shopping and we love clothes so Connie's transitional style presentation was perfect for us as we can now wear and style our favourite pieces all year round!
Rounding off the first half was Shoe obssessive, Caitlin Walls. She delivered a 'Splurge, Spend, Save' presentation showing us how we can get Louboutin Style dupes for just £19.99. Slipping in a few budget bags and accessories at the end, this was the perfect way to end part one of our event.

We had a little break between speakers which gave us here at SHU Style the chance to get to know some of our lovely helpers and readers - and dig into lots of cake and sweeties of course!

The Event - Part Two
After a yummy pause for cake and a chat, we dived straight back in for the second part of our event. Our Lifestyle Editor, Katie Millington talked us through 'How to Look Fit whilst Keeping Fit' before she sat down and became a model for our Editor, Olivia Wood's live make up tutorial.
