Horaay it's Halloween! If there were any time of year to experiment with this seasons hot gothic trends, surely it would be Halloween. Have no fear though ladies, we're not talking about rocking a studded dog collar (I did try that look during my misguided youth and I did not pull it off!) but we are talking about luxurious fabrics such as silk, lace and velvets in gorgeous dark shades.

LAST MINUTE AND NO EFFORT HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

So it’s Halloween in 2 days and you’re as last minute as they come! You’ve left it this late because you’re not big on the whole ‘fancy dress’ thing but everyone’s going out and you have no costume. Well SHU Style have come to the rescue with __ options for the ‘no effort’ student who hates dressing up.

Halloween is my favourite time of year, I get crazy into it too; spending ages imagining and creating the perfect costume. Admittedly I do forget that halloween costumes are traditionally scary and not just excuses to dress up as a celebrity you secretly wish you were (Slave For You Britney, Amy Winehouse and 90s Gwen Stefani all get honourable mentions here). Although, there is nothing worse than that Mean Girls moment when you turn up to your Halloween pre drinks in a serious costume which took ages to make to find a bunch of "cats" (distinguished only by their cat ears on a headband that will come off after half a bottle of Echo Falls). Lindsay Lohan we feel you! To combat this I have come up with idea of group costumes, this way you and all your housemates will look amazing, scary or awful together. TOP 6 HALLOWEEN MAKEUP TUTORIALS

We’ve all been there, its 6 o’clock on Halloween night and you still haven’t decided on an outfit. It usually results in a makeshift bin bag dress and some black eye shadow smothered all over your face. This year I’ve decided I’m going to be ultra-prepared. An easy and cheap way to transform yourself into something scary (or at least mildly Halloween related), is by slapping on some face paint and make up.
