Halloween is my favourite time of year, I get crazy into it too; spending ages imagining and creating the perfect costume. Admittedly I do forget that halloween costumes are traditionally scary and not just excuses to dress up as a celebrity you secretly wish you were (Slave For You Britney, Amy Winehouse and 90s Gwen Stefani all get honourable mentions here). Although, there is nothing worse than that Mean Girls moment when you turn up to your Halloween pre drinks in a serious costume which took ages to make to find a bunch of "cats" (distinguished only by their cat ears on a headband that will come off after half a bottle of Echo Falls). Lindsay Lohan we feel you! To combat this I have come up with idea of group costumes, this way you and all your housemates will look amazing, scary or awful together. These are my favourite group Halloween costume themes:
The Addams Family
This is a classic, so easy to do and will include the boys in your house too. Everything you need for this you will either already have, will find in a charity shop or in a generic party shop. I not only include this because Wednesday Addams is a bit of a style icon of mine, but also because she has a RBF that puts Victoria Beckham to shame!
Spice Girls
Speaking of Victoria Beckham...90s nostalgia is a serious look right now, so why not capitalise on this and dress as your all time childhood heros?! #girlpower
Kiss
I've seen a few groups do this and it never ceases to impress. Go on girls, lend your Boyf your disco pants for one night at least.
The Craft
The Craft is my second favourite Halloween film, behind Hocus Pocus (obvs!!) The craft is an amazing group idea on two levels, not only is it a 90s cult classic but also it is filthy cheap because you can just reuse your school uniform from Wednesday nights at Corp- winner!
Beanie Babies
I know you have a gross Primark animal onesie in the back of your wardrobe left over from a freshers Zoo party. Slap a TY tag on yourself and your a beanie baby! Cheapest. Costume. Ever.
Trolls
You know those creepy little naked trolls that dropped out of your Weetos box and into your cereal bowl on lucky Monday mornings? Well now you can dress as one! Nude attire and coloured hairspray is all you need to be a cute, little, nakey troll.
Mean girls
Who doesn't love Mean girls? Not only is it the most fetch Halloween costume ever, (sorry I had to!) but there are loads of iconic outfits to choose from, the sexy Santas, the pink Wednesdays, their actual Halloween costumes and if you’re really broke, just cut two holes in your white tshirt. I do however shotgun Mrs George!
The many faces of Britney
I love this idea, I've spent the last 4 weeks trying to persuade my friends to do this with me, but for some reason no one wants to be bald Britney! Regardless, it's still the best group fancy dress idea. Ever.
