So yesterday our nation celebrated the much loved Pancake
Day. Sadly, for many of us, that means that Lent has begun and the cutting out
of sweets, crisps, chocolate, etc. will be already playing on people’s minds!
But for now, let’s concentrate on how delicious our pancakes were last night.
Like me, I am sure your Instagram’s and Snapchat stories were filled with
pancake pictures, either flipping disasters or smug successes or beautiful
pancakes drizzled with syrup and lemon…
Our celebs seemed to be enjoying Pancake Day too. Here are
some of our favourite pancake pictures that have been posted!
Lucy Watson seemed to be enjoying her Pancakes, topped with
a side of Mac and Cheese and scrambled eggs, opting for a more savoury style of
pancake. This was posted early morning though so she had these as her breakfast
fuel, whereas post of us I assume used them for a desert for after dinner!
Millie Macintosh provided her avid Instagram followers with
a great pancake recipe yesterday to get everybody in the mood! Normally, Millie
is food conscious and a pure exercise queen, so her followers would know that
this recipe wouldn’t lead you to a fatty stodgy feeling afterwards!
However, I think Lucy Meck may have had some trouble with
her cooking! I’m sure we’ve all had one of those pancakes where flipping it has
destroyed it, or it has just been burnt to pieces by leaving it in the pan for
too long. The art of flipping has not been mastered for me yet, I must admit…
And Proudlock opted for sharing a picture of possible the
world’s largest pancake, rather than sharing his own!
However, we have seen some great pancakes in local places
too. For instance, Fancie in Sheffield apparently did notoriously great pancakes
yesterday! Judging by this photo, they seem unbeatable. This is one to remember
for the future! This is a red velvet pancake with mixed berry compot… mmmm.
Also, my friend Robyn does nutrition at Uni and has her own
recipe page. She posts daily pictures of her own healthy alternatives to making
food interesting and appealing, so if you fancy some great new meal ideas, go
follow robynsrealrecipes on Instagram! Her savoury pancake demonstrates just
that; using cheese, mushrooms, chives and tomato sauce, this pancake is healthy
and filling enough for the day.
So there are some of our pancake snaps from yesterday’s
Shrove Tuesday! Now, unfortunately, the struggle of Lent must continue…
