VALENTINES GIFT GUIDE - GIFTS FOR HIM

Valentine’s Day is approaching fast, and for those of you who have the difficult task of actually buying something for a man, you may be in need of our help here at SHU Style! We all know how challenging gift ideas for men are; they either suggest that they don’t want anything at all, or just ‘something that I’ll like’. Always very unhelpful. However, we’ve devised a few gift ideas where you can’t go wrong this Valentine’s Day!

  1. Photo present

Photo presents are easy to do, relatively cheap and also sentimental. Obviously, this may depend on how long the relationship has been because it may be a bit too soon to buy a boyfriend of two weeks a photograph of you two together! But various websites and Boots do great photo gifts, such as mugs, collages, calendars, phone cases or t-shirts. And of course, there’s always the classic photo in a frame gift – you can’t normally go wrong with this sort of present, it’s cheap, easy and it will mean something to you both!

  1. A day trip/activity gift

This sort of gift is normally dependant on the interests of the guy himself, but doing something the two of you can enjoy together is a great way to show you know him well and care enough to go somewhere that could be mostly beneficial to him. For example, you could buy him tickets to watch a football match, or even booking something slightly more daring like quad biking for the two of you. Perhaps if he’s into theatre, go and watch a west end musical! On a cheap budget though, maybe just take him to do something fun together such as cocktail making class or a skiing session! Something that you know he’ll enjoy and a way for you to spend time together.

  1. Hotel:

If you’re feeling adventurous and have a bit of money to spend, them a great gift this Valentine’s Day would be to take him away somewhere to a nice hotel. Perhaps you could take him to a different city, and maybe grab some food and few a drinks while you’re there to make a night out of it. It can also be done on a small budget, but the idea is the most important: just getting away from your local area and to spend time together! This is a relatively simple present idea which you can both enjoy.

  1. A personalised gift.

This can be a funny present, but also can be sentimental too. There are so many examples on gettingpersonal.co.uk where you can see for yourself the range of options they have – I have bought from this site a couple of times and the items really are of good quality! This sort of gift can be one they can keep or use regularly, but it doesn’t have to be a serious gift either as it can have a humorous side to it!

  1. Moonpig cards:

Not everybody likes cards, some find them soppy and impersonal. But honestly you can’t go wrong with a moonpig card! Either with a funny message or photos on it, you can have your card mean much more than a cheesy card in a shop.

  1. Spa day:

This is a great way for you both to have a bit of relaxation time. You could book a whole stay at the spa or maybe just one or two treatments, depending on your budget. And more often than not, you will be able to have access to the spa facilities such as pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room etc. It’s a great way to de-stress from the pressures of day to day life, and a great gift for you both to enjoy!
Hope these ideas have helped! Men can be quite difficult to buy for at the best of times, so just do what you think is best for you boyfriend this year and base it on his interests and personality.
Happy Valentines!
Katie x
