Halloween is over (sigh) and Bonfire night it upon us. There is something about fireworks and bonfires that brings out that excited little child as well as the impending fear of how you will look stylish and stay toastie. We’ve all made that mistake, of turning up to the fireworks with a fur coat over sweatshirt which is over a jumper which is over a Tshirt and looking like a walking, talking Michelin Man. Well fear not, the Shu Style fairies are here with our guide on layering up and staying fabulous this Bonfire night!
- Opt for fur trim
We all know that fur (we only condone faux fur!!) keeps you warm and glamorous, but it is big and bulky! Go for something with a fur trim, or accessorise with a fur hat or stole. The rise of Charlotte Simone and her fur stoles has been huge, with every stylish celebrity sporting her gorgeous popsicles, so if you’re considering the look, now is the time to try it! However, be careful and only wear fur to fireworks only (no bonfires!) if not, you’ll be smelling like Dot Cotton for months on end!
- Boot it
Go for a heavy duty trouser (jeans or leather) with a longer boot. Knee high and over the knee boots are also really fashionable right now with all members of the fash pack opting for a longer boot this Autumn/ Winter. If you haven’t already splurged on a longer boot, you should, they’ll be your wardrobe staple for years to come!
- Keep it fine
Layer fine tops over each other, experimenting with colour, shape and texture. Sports Luxe this season is all about the layering and is so, so comfy! Still got a cropped, high necked jersey or racer back from this Summer? Pop it under a low necked T shirt or Jumper for instant Cali Cool points.
- Add a hat
I’ve already mentioned how good a faux fur hat can look, but a trilby or a fedora can really smarten the look up. That not your style? A statement beanie can also keep you warm and looking amazing, I’m especially loving the knitted beanies with veils.
That’s it, follow these four simple rules and you’ll be looking amazing this November 5th guaranteed! What will you be doing this Bonfire night? Send us pictures of your Bonfire night style!
